I missed a payment or deposit. What do I do?

If you received a notification from the Loan Management team or you noticed in your bank account that you missed a payment on your Windmill loan, here are instructions to make a missed payment.


To make a deposit or payment towards your Windmill loan, we recommend that you add Windmill Microlending as a payee through your financial institution. To add Windmill as a payee through your bank, you must use your loan number as your account number, without any dashes. If you do not know your loan number, you may find it by logging in to the Client Portal at app.windmillmicrolending.org, the email associated with the loan will be your login. 


Once you have added the payee, you can make a payment to your loan through that payee. Please ensure you are making the payment for the exact amount that had been missed. Please note, it will take 5-10 business days for the payment to be processed. 


We highly recommend that you make a payment as soon as possible once it is missed, as...

  • All missed payments are reported to Equifax on a monthly basis if greater than one month late
  • A missed payment may reduce your overall credit score
  • A reduced credit score may make it difficult to qualify for credit in the future.
